TietoEnator acquires Swedish IT company Laps Care AB

TietoEnatorTietoEnator has acquired Swedish Laps Care AB from parent company Optimal Solutions AB. Laps Care specialises in IT support for resource optimisation in elderly care, home care and home nursing. The company has eight employees and operations in Stockholm, Linköping and Malmö. The agreement means that TietoEnator supplements its portfolio of solutions and services for care operations and broadens its customer base in the field. The acquisition is effective as of 1 October 2006.

The tool has been developed in close cooperation with home help services and offers a comprehensive approach to operations planning, while cost effectively exploiting all resources to the benefit of patients.

"Laps Care, along with our product group for elderly care, our services and our business know-how, creates a comprehensive combination that gives our Nordic customers the opportunity to streamline their work processes in - and between - the areas of elderly care, home care and home nursing," says Jan B. Andersson, head of TietoEnator Healthcare & Welfare in Sweden.

"To meet the increasing demand in Sweden and with the prospect of expanding outside Sweden's borders, we see the deal with TietoEnator as a requirement for continued expansion.
