Following the adoption by the EPSCO Council of the Conclusions on safe and efficient healthcare through eHealth, we(1) acknowledge that ICT for Health (eHealth) is a tool to improve quality and patient safety, to modernise national healthcare systems, to increase their efficiency and make them better adapted to the individual needs of citizens, patients, health professionals, and the challenges of an ageing society.

The Spanish Presidency has four strategic goals: to introduce a global vision for an e-Health policy totally integrated in the post 2010 European Agenda; to drive a new eHealth Action Plan, facing the new European challenges; to develop and promote ministerial agreements, in particular regarding integration of e-Health in community policy and implementing reinforced governance.

Neuro-Musculo-Skeletal Physiome, or NMS Physiome for short, officially started on January 27th, 2010. This is a VPH Internationalisation cooperation project between the European integrated project VPHOP, and the United States NIH Center for physics-based Simulation of Biological Structures, SIMBIOS.

The overall goal of the ARGOS eHealth Pilot Project is to contribute to establishing a "Transatlantic Observatory for Meeting Global Health Policy Challenges through ICT-Enabled Solutions" in order to develop and promote "Common Methods for Responding to Global eHealth Challenges in the EU and the US".

The objective of the masters curriculum is to prepare eHealth technology specialists who, having passed the curriculum, have acquired the know-how for working in different health care sector enterprises and have the knowledge about the client and patient cantered approach and manner of behaviour characteristic of the modern health care system.

PREVE project's mission is to analyse and present prerequisites, knowledge foundation, and a coherent 'plan of action' for ICT research directions targeting the prevention of diseases and the preservation of health - tailored to the individual citizen.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has developed a method for analysing MR images in just a few minutes when diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. The accuracy of the analysis is comparable to manual measurements made by skilled professionals, which are currently considered the most reliable method for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease.
