iSOFT Wins First Lorenzo Customer in Spain

iSOFT Group LimitediSOFT Group Limited (ASX:ISF) has agreed a €1 million contract for Lorenzo Enterprise with Spain's Cerdanya Cross-Border Hospital Private Foundation, an acute care facility at the border of Catalonia and France and the first to support a cross-national healthcare model between the two countries under the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation.

Under the project, iSOFT will develop an enterprise-wide clinical and hospital management system for the 216-bed Cerdanya Hospital, an elderly care centre and seven primary care clinics in the French region of Capcir and the Cerdanya region of Catalonia and France.

Lorenzo Enterprise will manage all clinical services. Integration with iSOFT's hospital, electronic patient record and primary care solutions and third-party applications, using iSOFT's Viaduct integration platform, will provide a complete enterprise-wide, clinical and patient information management solution.

The solutions will be available to users in Spanish, Catalan and French languages and to several government authorities for management of finances and waiting lists.

Under the two-year deal, iSOFT will also migrate the solution to the new Cerdanya hospital currently under construction and due to open in two years.

The Cerdanya Cross-Border Hospital Private Foundation deals with over 90,000 outpatient appointments annually and covers a population of 30,000, although this can rise to 150,000 during the ski season.

"This represents another major milestone for Lorenzo and provides reference-ability in one of our key markets," said Andrea Fiumicelli, iSOFT's Chief Executive Officer. "This is a unique cross-border project demanding an advanced interoperable solution capable of managing a highly complex situation. A pioneering project, it fits perfectly with the European Union's e-health agenda for cross-border exchange of healthcare information."

The European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation is a new European legal instrument designed to facilitate and promote cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation. It enables regional and local authorities and other public bodies from different member states to set up cooperation groupings as legal entities.
