Carestream Wins European Tender for University Medical Centre Groningen, The Netherlands

CarestreamCarestream Health has won a European PACS tender for the prestigious University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), one of the largest hospitals in The Netherlands. Carestream's Vue PACS platform will replace existing Agfa Web and Rogan PACS solutions to enhance radiology workflow together with Vue Motion for convenient mobile viewing of images and reports. Installation is expected to commence in Q4 2012 and be completed by the end of Q1 2013.

"Following a lengthy and thorough market evaluation, Carestream came out top in terms of capability, cost and professional services," said Mr P. ten Bhömer, Head of Technical Affairs Radiology, UMCG. "The PACS platform is very powerful and in particular we were impressed by the simplicity of the configuration. It's amazing to see what this configuration is capable of considering the size of our hospital."

CARESTREAM Vue PACS offers integrated advanced visualisation, 3D post processing, dictation, critical results notification and a mammography module that eliminates the need for dedicated workstations. Native voice recognition, a single sign-on and structured and user-defined reports with embedded patient data combine to take the complexity and manual entry out of diagnostic reporting.

CARESTREAM Vue Motion provides easy access to imaging data and patient information stored on a PACS or archive using only a Web browser or EMR portal. The viewer requires no local installation or software downloads. It is accessible from almost any Web-enabled device and is able to display DICOM or non-DICOM data stored in PACS or archives from Carestream or other vendors.
