Rotherham Opts for Multilex DDF in MEDITECH

First DataBankThe Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is adopting First DataBank's Multilex Drug Data File (Multilex DDF), the UK's leading drug knowledge base, as a key component of the Trust's MEDITECH Electronic Patient Record system.

The purchase of the latest MEDITECH v6.0 Electronic Patient Record solution from FileTek UK Ltd is part of a new strategic informatics direction for the Trust planned over the next ten years.

Brian James, CEO Rotherham Rotherham chief executive Brian James stated "This fully integrated electronic patient record will cover the entire patient journey within and beyond the hospital. Including First DataBank's Multilex DDF was the obvious choice, supporting prescribing, dispensing and administration decisions, helping our health professionals to provide the best patient care."

Multilex DDF is the UK's most comprehensive and widely used drug knowledge base. Multilex DDF holds clinical and commercial information on more than 75,000 pharmaceutical products and packs and provides patient specific clinical decision support. The integration of Multilex DDF in the Meditech Electronic Patient Record system provides the capability for Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust to develop a seamless clinical workflow, linking prescribing with other clinical functionality like orders and alerts to deliver easily managed, integrated care pathways.
