HIMSS Holland eHealth Exchange to be Launched at WoHIT 2014

The World of Health IT 20142 - 4 April 2014, Nice, France.
HIMSS Europe is launching the HIMSS Holland eHealth Exchange, a group primarily aimed at Dutch professionals working with healthcare and IT from both public and private sector. The Netherlands currently holds the second highest number of HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 hospitals only outnumbered by Spain.

According to Christina Roosen, Vice-President of HIMSS Europe, "The combination of the market maturity and level of IT expenditure in healthcare makes the Netherlands one of the most attractive markets for healthcare IT in Europe. Given this strong leadership position, we are delighted to launch this group in The Netherlands which will facilitate networking and education amongst all sectors and also increase the awareness of the Dutch Healthcare IT success stories on an international level."

The main activities of the HIMSS Holland eHealth Exchange will be decided by a local committee consisting of public and private Healthcare IT professionals, managed by HIMSS, and taking place at the following events:

  • HIMSS Amsterdam, November 6-8, 2014
  • HIMSS US Annual Conference, Chicago April 16-18, 2015

The World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition (WoHIT) 2014, taking place in Nice, from 2 - 4 April, will host the inaugural HIMSS Holland eHealth Exchange meeting, where the community will have the opportunity to meet, network and learn more about the group's objectives and activities. This presentation is scheduled on Thursday 3rd April at 3pm at Maya Room.

Up to date, a total of 7 Dutch hospitals have reached the HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 level. At the WoHIT Stage 6 and 7 Awards Ceremony, more Dutch hospitals will be recognised for the adoption of the electronic medical record. Furthermore, at WoHIT 2014 the Netherlands has a special presence with a significant number of speakers in the differentsessions in the programme:
