conhIT - Industry Event on Course for Success

conhIT - Connecting Healthcare IT20-22 April 2010, Berlin, Germany.
In 2010 conhIT is once more set to be Europe's leading event for healthcare IT. With barely three months to go before this industrial fair opens its doors both exhibitor attendance and space rented out have exceeded last year figures. Once again, high-ranking experts from Germany and abroad are due to take part in the conhIT congress. The focus of the twelve congress sessions will be on the opportunities in the market created by innovative IT solutions in the healthcare industry. The interactive seminars at the conhIT academy will discuss concrete ways for finding solutions as well as innovative strategies for selected healthcare IT topics. Thus the focus on the industry's most pressing healthcare issues will be under one roof. An extensive programme of networking events rounds off the exhibition concept. For the first time in 2010 there will be theme tours targeting all participants which take a closer look at the highlights of the industrial fair.

Federal Minister of Health Dr. Philipp Rösler has agreed to act as patron of this year's industry event for healthcare IT. Secretary of State Stefan Kapferer will deliver the keynote at the opening event of conhIT on 20 April.

Numerous first-time exhibitors at the industrial fair
All the major market players are due to attend the industrial fair. To date 130 exhibitors have registered their participation, among them leading enterprises such as Agfa Healthcare, SAP, Siemens Healthcare and Tieto. Newcomers include Cisco Systems, Isoft, nexus and the networking platform ihealth networx.com. As a city with a special interest in healthcare Berlin will be debuting with a large stand, alongside numerous partners. conhIT continues to receive daily requests and applications for the industrial fair.

Congress - innovative IT solutions create opportunities
Taking as its slogan "IT makes you healthy" a panel discussion will open the conhIT congress on 20 April. IT executives from around Europe will be taking part. The congress sessions will examine the role and extent to which IT solutions contribute towards organisational processes and decision-making in economic, administrative, medical and nursing terms and alternately highlight the points of view represented by science, industry, users and politics. Topics will range from a national telematics infrastructure, the convergence of IT and medical technology to telemedicine care models.

Over a period of two days there will be a lively exchange of information among participants in conhIT and the surgeons' congress, which take places at the same time in the International Congress Center. For example there will be a special congress session on the subject of "patient safety through IT". Tickets are valid for admission to both events. A bus shuttle will be available for transport to and from the adjacent venues.

Simultaneous interpreting into English and German is provided at all the lectures. On 21 and 22 April "warm-up" sessions will be held, devoted to an exciting, up-to-the-minute topic and discussed openly in an informal atmosphere.

Detailed information on the programme of congress events is available from the regularly updated conhIT website at www.conhit.com.

conhIT - connecting Healthcare IT
conhIT was conceived by VhitG, and as a platform for the healthcare IT industry promotes active dialogue between manufacturers, users and science. It targets decision-makers in IT departments, management, in the medical profession, nursing, doctors, doctors' networks and medical care centres who need to find out about the latest developments in IT and healthcare, meet members of the industry and make use of opportunities for high-level advanced training.

As an integrated event, over a period of three days conhIT combines the displays, services and opportunities which attract the industry's attention. The congress and academy focus on the advanced training requirements of exhibitors and users and the topics are put together by representatives of the respective target audiences. The industrial fair, the main focus of conhIT and Germany's leading exhibition for healthcare IT, provides information on products and services and presents innovations, trends and established IT solutions. Opening times and individual content are coordinated to let participants benefit from each part of the event. In 2009 172 exhibitors displayed their products at the industrial fair.

Information for visitors and exhibitors is available at www.conhit.com.
