CSW signs OEM agreement with Visbion

CSW Group LtdCSW Group has signed an OEM agreement with Visbion Ltd, whereby Visbion's DICOM imaging technology will be incorporated into CSW's Case Notes product for Electronic Health Records and sold as its new Diagnostic Image Management and Diagnostic Image Viewer modules.

Visbion specialises in medical image management and display solutions that support the acquisition, storage, archive and display of a wide range of medical images. This functionality will now be available through new Case Notes modules, which extend its capability to handle any diagnostic images - including X-Ray, CT and MRI - using the international DICOM 3.0 standard.

CSW holds a small shareholding in Visbion Ltd, a UK company that owns digital imaging technology originally developed over a fourteen year period at Imperial College, London. Visbion's technology integrates images from a wide range of clinical disciplines and provides specialist tools for radiologists, ophthalmologist and other healthcare professionals.

John Chelsom, Managing Director at CSW, commented, "The incorporation of Visbion's DICOM technology into Case Notes, is a further step towards its development as a cross agency care records system with full clinical functionality. Using Visbion's technology, Case Notes is now fully DICOM enabled, allowing it to handle a full range of diagnostic images within its single patient centred record."
