Agfa HealthCare announced contract award with Classic Hospitals in UK

AGFAAgfa HealthCare announced that Classic Hospitals, a group of ten hospitalsbased in Reading (UK), has signed an £1.5 Million agreement to install AgfaHealthCare's next-generation Picture Archiving and Communications System(PACS), IMPAXTM6.2. Additionally, Agfa HealthCare's CR (ComputedRadiography) solution, the CR 35-X, will be installed in each facility to provideboth general and mammography digital services. The installation will begin inDecember 2006, with all ten hospitals expected to be complete by March 2007.

Each of Classic Hospital's ten facilities is multi-modality, includingorthopaedics, gynecology, breast imaging, and more.

"Three important considerations in choosing Agfa HealthCare solutions weretheir state-of-the-art web-based solutions, the value for the money, and thebenefit of connectivity with the National Health Service (NHS)," said DavidGray, COO, Classic Hospitals. "It will soon be mandated that the private sectorand the public sector be able to transfer images electronically. This arrangementwill ensure that we can service public patients."
