DMEA sparks opened, featuring a wide range of topics. Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn kicked off events. In his interview he focused on the coronavirus contact-tracing app, which was presented to coincide with DMEA sparks. "It is decentralised, voluntary and complies with the DSGVO" - which according to Spahn were only a few of the requirements. Only if people widely accepted the app and large numbers installed it would it be able to fulfil its purpose, he said.

DMEA 2020 to be Held as a Virtual, Free Event

DMEA - Connecting Digital Health16 - 18 June 2020, Berlin, Germany.
This year's edition of DMEA, originally scheduled for 16 to 18 June 2020, is to be held entirely as a virtual event.

On 16 June selected keynote speeches and other formats will be streamed live. Both these and other program items will be available online on demand.

From 16 to 18 June many exhibitors at DMEA will also be featuring a virtual progam.

DMEA Postponed and Rescheduled for 16 to 18 June 2020

The German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg) and Messe Berlin have agreed to postpone this year's edition of DMEA - Connecting Digital Health, which will now take place from 16 to 18 June 2020. This is due to the heightened health risk and the assessment of events relating to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). On Wednesday the WHO officially declared the global COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic.
