June HIMSS EMEA eSeminar on "How can ICT improve patient safety and quality of care?". Dr. Veli Stroetmann, empirica Communication & Technology Research, Germany and Dr. Jean-Pierre Thierry, Symbion, France conducted a study for the European Commission on the impact of ICT on patient safety and risk management in healthcare, entitled "eHealth for Safety".

AGFARadioTalk is a new web based live broadcasting program that invites Radiologists from across the globe to share their views about how to best implement technology into their individual workflows. ICT for HealthFor almost a decade the European Commission activities in eHealth have supported a vision of person-centric healthcare systems - a vision that breaks away from the current way of delivering healthcare.

This vision is best expressed by the so-called Personal Health Systems (PHS). PHS represent a new generation of eHealth systems in the form of, for example, wearable and portable systems and tools in the hands of patients (or citizens).

The TransAtlantic Business DialogueThe TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) held its Innovation Conference Healthcare under the patronage of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has made transatlantic innovation a key tenet of the EU presidency. The conference, which brought together American and European participants, including political leaders and scientific experts, presented four recommendations to improve innovation in healthcare and healthcare delivery.
