Our healthcare systems are suffering from high costs and high fragmentation - often resulting in poor medical outcomes and unjustified clinical variability in medical practices and decision making across the care providers. When looked at holistically, healthcare systems are declared "unsustainable". This second annual eHealth Summit aims to provide key EU and national policy-makers and health stakeholders with a unique opportunity to discuss solutions on how to overcome these challenges and to achieve tangible outcomes that will provide a platform for action.

eHealth Week, the leading eHealth event of Europe, will take place in Amsterdam on 8 - 10 June 2016. This was announced in Amsterdam during the Info Day about the eHealth Week. The event is organised by the Dutch Ministry of Health, the European Commission and HIMSS Europe. eHealth Week is an official part of the Presidency of the Netherlands in the Council of the European Union which will take place from 1 January until 30 June 2016.

Europe's biggest and most important event on Ambient Assisted Living, the AAL Forum 2015 is coming to Ghent, Belgium. The event is an initiative of the AAL Programme, supported by IWT, the Flemish agency for innovation by science and technology, and is organized in collaboration with iMinds.
